Hello Kitty for president

Now I'm British so the American election is just a spectator sport for myself and with mercury retrograding it should only cause more drama, and from the outside looking in my vote would go to Obama. He may or may not have stuck to his promises, but a woman deserves rights and with Romney in charge it looks to be all downhill from the minute he'd set foot in the white house.

Enough of the serious stuff.. I Love the Sanrio campaign 'Hello Kitty for president!'

By using the art of photo shop they have reworked iconic images and made them a forefront. Who needs Jay Z or Kid rock campaigning for you when your Hello Kitty!

The pop up store in NYC was open from the 1st of November to the 6th. while this is all in good fun Sanrio donated proceeds to the american red cross, to aid in the recovery of the city after Hurricane Sandy along with other charities.

The collection is super adorable too, and to all lovers of Hello Kitty over 18 in America this is a good way to remember to vote. You can't complain if you don't bother voting. Your vote could make all the difference.

Unicorno series 2

You have no idea how excited I am to say that a unicorno series 2 has been confirmed and are ready to pre-order! According to Forbidden planet (UK) they are expected on December 31st. Perfect start to the new year! Although the full set hasn't been revealed as yet Tokidoki's Instagram - Tokidokibrand has been releasing images of the new collection one by one! and each one is better than the next.

The first taster the collection,
possibly my favourite unicorno!
This Japanese themed unicorno is bursting with oriental flair, from the cherry blossoms to the chopsticks in it's mane,
this unnamed unicorno is a must for my collection.

Meet Bamboo - A pandacorn!
A gorgeous panda themed unicorno,
straight from the depths of Tokidoki Land

The Third :Say hello to Rodeo
A gorgeous rocking unicorno, Based on a rocking horse
this unicorno is all set with handles and a board.

Meet sunny day
The white unicorno covered in polka dots,
An adorable unicorno for anyone's collection!

Meet caramelo
I love this unicorno! it looks as if it's based on the day of the dead. With a mexican skull themed face and bones covering it's body. I love the use of colour on this one!

The full collection can be seen here. I'm really not sure about the last 2 but I'm in love with the rest!

Truffle!

I have been meaning to get this little guy since Easter so whilst walking around forbidden planet, I saw him alone and in the wrong place therefore I had to get him! Better late than never eh?

Donutella!

She is probably my Favourite tokidoki purchase of all time, and the dearest! My first Tokidoki plush purchase and I'm actually impressed with the quality. I have so many idea's to utilise her and as my sisters have falling in love with her I'm making a picture book full of her travels therefore wherever I go she will go, also with the aid of Photoshop at parts I'm guessing. Cheap and cheerful Christmas present for them and a open door of creativity for me!

Puroland China 2014

Construction is set to begin in July on a 150-acre  $215 million hello kitty Theme park due to open In 2014 in zhejian province, China. There are already Hello Kitty theme parks In japan 2 being Puroland and Harmony land. There are also talks of another Hello Kitty park outside of Japan to be be built in late 2015 early 2016!

So there is Heaven on earth, well there already was but now there's even more. I'd kill to be able to visit puroland in Japan but if the one there planning on building after is in america? (for instance) I definatly Have more chance of being able to experience a PuroLand and meet hello kitty. (yes a fat man in a suit...)

Sharpie x Lava lamp collaboration

i love lava lamps and when tokidoki's involved in anything I fall head over heels with it so when I heard about this collab with sharpie and Lava lamp I had to check it out!

These 5 lava lamps are a one of a kind and can be won over Facebook (yes facebook the devil itself.) With a trip to wherever the art on the lava lamp is inspired from, so I'm guessing the tokidoki one will be japan and honestly that would be a dream come true. Although I love the tokidoki Lava lamp i quite like the others too, Artwork on the others are from roth, boey, langille and choonimals.

My tokidoki collection #2

So after searching for months for a Latte, Ebay finally granted my wish and although one of my mates figured out He was on there too and bumped the price up he is finally mine, Ebay is also a curse in my book, spent way too much on tokidoki figures, So here are the latest in my overflowing collection!

 Mou Mou, Choco and Latte!

Latte is quite frankly my most sought after tokidoki Character, I honestly Can't believe I now own one! I Think after till death do us part the moofia is my favourite of the Tokidoki clans of characters! Although with the chances of me finding a latte I told my mum I wouldn't need to buy another figure, (so we'll keep that a secret for now, hello royal pride)

Devil robots x Tokidoki Trexi.

Now I didn't realise this existed till I stumbled upon her on ebay, I'm not too sure what I make of her she does have another side to her and is adjustable. I love the fact that I sort of have something close to a tokidoki girl in my collection.

Wreck this journal #5

I've been slacking on my wreck this journal but the last few day's I've gotten stuck back in it! So here's the latest update, please ignore the 5 year old like finger painting.

Page 13 - This page is for Handprints or finger prints, get them dirty. Then press them down.

Excuse the Soddy painting, Used the leftovers of what my sisters used to create a abominable mess, but I totally hit my childhood days with this!

Page 80-81 - Drip something here (ink, paint, tea) Close the book to make a print.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out, so i didn't drip I sort of used quick random strokes instead. But I honestly think I'm the only person to think it's a peacock!

Page 167 - Document Time passing.

Well I struggled to get a concept for this page (and yes I know, wreck this journal isn't really for over thinking but this is me and that's how I am)

So clearly the Hickery dickery dock clock and the mice. Then random quotes about time. (pretty basic really) but my inspiration behind this was a wake up call to myself, I've wasted a lot and I mean a lot of my time this year  dwelling on the past and it's about time I snap out of it because Life is for living.

Page 106 - This page is dedicated to Lyrics

Another one of the pages I've added myself so my Journal doesn't have blank pages and to be honest, if Kerry smith knew the audience that in general would buy wreck this journal I have no doubt there would be a page similar to this included somewhere in it.

So just a quick update; currently in progress are the best pages of my journal in my opinion, Including the colour this page which will be tokidoki themed and is taking hours to complete. The fruit stickers page which  I'll be amazed ever gets finished.... It's horrible seeing my wreck this journal journey come to an end but all good things come to an end and after I was so disappointed with this is not a book I hope there's another in the series that captivates me as much as this has! Part 6 will be along a lot sooner than this update I promise!

Royal pride

New season, new collection say hello to the royal pride!

"The law of the urban jungle has no room for the weak. Lion Pappa’s gang, Royal Pride, gets wild and rough to protect their turf. They make the rules, get rich and spoil their girls, the only ones who rule these boys! Brute force and jungle instinct make Royal Pride the kings!”

So taking over from the unicorno Blind boxes are these beauties. Lions and lionesses, a shady black cat and is that a poodle and a dog in amongst it there?! Either way I have no doubt I will own almost all of them eventually I love how urban they are, The yellow lion reminds me of a burger king ad!

Tokidoki Limited edition.

I'm probably a little late blogging about this I found this website a while ago and fell in love with almost everything on it! Especially the Limited edition tokidoki Item's, if someone fancies buying me any of the items on here I'd marry you in a heartbeat. no seriously.

This has to be my favourite piece! Not only for my love of cherries but this would look adorable anywhere! I'd kill to have this is in my living room, with a few Tokidoki plushes sat on it! This is currently not on the website for sale.

This is amazing, not only does it incorporate most tokidoki original characters but the tattooed female which Tokidoki represents (hence the tokidoki Barbie). Also I have to say the fact Latte is a fair size on this chair makes it even better for myself, It also has the cactus pals, Adio's and ciao ciao, Dounutella, unicorno's, Royal pride, skulls, diamonds, swallows and vampire lips.

Now if you don't have £1,595 to spend (which let's face it most of us don't) there is an alternative item's a lot cheaper but still as adorable, they tend to sell out pretty fast and because there Limited edition there's no saying how many will be made.

The 'Tokidoki pillow' incorporates every tokidoki character like the chair above minus the tattooed beauty, so from the Moofia to the cactus pals everyone's favourite is one here!

The 'Tokidoki Singapore pillow', Has everything the chair has, different pattern of the characters with the tattooed beauty. I love the way Tokidoki portrays woman, so much so one day I will have one tattooed myself!

Tokidoki tea time! From what I can see this is the item that sells out most frequently, it's currently sold out and I know why it's to adorable to say no too! covered in Tokidoki favourites it's a must have for any collector!

search Tokidoki, although I'd happily buy almost one of every collection they have on here!

New Ink!

My new tattoo, and honestly I couldn't be more in love with it! Only half finished as it will eventually be a half sleeve, the roses represent the people who have past my gran and grandfather for example. The bugs represent life and I might just get clouds around it so it would be a garden in Heaven. I got it done at the same tattooist I got my mermaid inked at and to be honest I don't think I'd get tattooed by anyone else!

My tokidoki collection!

Now if you know me personally, you'd know I have a soft spot for anything remotely cute or hello kitty. Out of this strange obsession and yes it is strange when your best friends have to answer the question 'why are you in the kids section looking for a birthday card if she's 19' my love of vinyl toys appeared, specifically tokidoki!

I'm in love with Simone lengos work and 90% of my collection as you'll see in this post is tokidoki! Amongst these I do have a gloomy bear kid robot figure which started my collection, I found it in the window of a charity shop and made my mum que outside for it the next day and at £1 it's the best buy I've ever had! and some skellanimals along with a little mermaid Barbie!

At the moment my collection is mainly based around Unicorno's and Cactus pals! As you have to buy unicorno's blind boxed I have a double of ritmo and bellina as well as dolce, mooka and pepperino I have singly! just 5 more to go till my collections complete, although something tells me i'll never complete my collection without spending too much on opened blind boxes on-line!

So this is how my shelf stands at the moment! I'm putting up another 2 just to compensate on room because I actually have nowhere else to store any more!

No matter how old I get I know there's one thing that will never change.. I will forever continue to collect vinyl figures, it captures my childhood in a heartbeat and I'll forever hold on to that.

Wreck this Journal #4

First blog of my 19th year on the planet,
I now have a better camera so quality on image's as of this blog will be  a lot higher!

I haven't really had much time to do anything in my journal once again but I am getting the paint out this week and completing the pages that allows you to get messy, Actually excited to do the finger painting page if I'm honest!  Anyway here's my Wreck this Journal update ;

Page 19 - press leaves and other found things.

this actually occured by accident I decided to make a circle of leaves, and it reminded me of jesus (sorry all you christians and catholics out there).

This is my Favourite page so far :
Don't want to give it away tho D:

Page 43 - make a paper aeroplane.

Yeah that's an aeroplane stuck to paper...
I was actually devastated that I couldn't remember how to make one and failed miserably but after a master class off a close friend over skype pretty sure I'm good on the whole making a paper aeroplane again now!

page 90 & 91 - Trace the things in your bag (or pockets) let the lines overlap

Badly drawn Hello kitty overload with a sprinkle of tokidoki and a rubbish phone. This would be what I carry on me 90% of time, No idea why I had hello kitty mints in my bag at this particular time as I'm allergic to them ....

Page 82 - let a child loose on this page!

one of the pages I've added myself, so there aren't any blank pages in my Journal, I let my 6 year old twin sisters loose on this! so pleased they actually listened and didn't go crazy!

The Next instalment will probably be based on the pages that include paint and ink etc although many of the pages I started a while ago that ask you to collect or find stuff are coming along pretty quick now! I can't believe I've almost completed it! there are a few pages I'm terrified of doing so as the book says : 'instructions are open to interpretation' I'm trying to find a way around them!

Sunday 1 April 2012

Welcome April, Have a totoro.

Hello Birthday week! and I'll finally have a decent camera as of Thursday so I'll be able to update more frequently and with a higher standard of photo's. Getting Inked on Thursday too actually cannot wait! It just so happens to be my 19th too, all I'm really looking forward to is CAKE!  for my size you have no idea how much I can pack away........

Just wanted to update quickly because it has been a while and I probably won't get much of a chance till later this week, but after then I will be setting myself 2 nights a week to blog.... about what I have no idea!

so I leave you with the totoro I made earlier from: www.cubecraft.com

Wreck this Journal #3

so seems as my previous wreck this journal entries have gotten a response I wasn't expecting, Here's the third part of my wreck this journal Journey. I have to admit some of the posts In this blog are a little disappointing to the perfectionist inside of me but the whole point of 'wreck this journal' is to test yourself as well as the book and see how far your creativity will take you. so here we go:

Pages 158 & 159 - Glue a page from a magazine, circle words you like.

so I demolished my Company magazines and ended up with this; So clearly the page has the Beautiful Lily Allen and Rihanna but the main focus was the Zooey deschanel Interview from company <3

'Make Tea not war'

Pages 24 & 25 -
Scribble wildly, violently with reckless abandon.

Says what it is on the tin, scribble.. scribble.

Pages 4 & 5 - stand here, wipe your feet.

Yeah I actually hate feet and I hate this page! but yeah, wiped my Vans on here before i ended up with this can obviously see the damage they created? no.

Page 29 -Glue, staple, or tape these pages together.

Pointless placing of this page next to the tear strips, rip it up page really isn't it?

Page 27 Tear strips, rip it up.

Page before the last entry see the problem now? completed this at stupid o'clock in the morning hence the little imagination. Might redo this page eventually!

so yeah part three and hopefully the worst entry of this series! Really need to get my creative flow going again to make the journal the best it can be... before I destroy it by taking it in the shower. (maybe). there should be an update within the few days along with a small update on 'this is not a book' because I can't even explain how disappointed I was with it! but I will complete it, just not document it like this!

Sunday 11 March 2012

Wreck this journal #2

so here's part 2 of my 'wreck this journal - Keri Smith' Journey! starting to get a little more daring as I go along in this book, even if I did freak out after spilling tea on it. As I stated before it defiantly is testing my perfectionism ways to the full, but it's the perfect remedy for being bored! I ordered 'This is not a book - Keri Smith' last night so I can't wait till that arrives! just giving me that extra boost to get my journal finished!

Page 33 - Fill this page with circles.

pictures self explanatory, I've had a drawing to bubbles since I was little so incorporated them into this! with a bubble blower at the bottom. All the seemly shaded parts are miniature circles too!

Page 37 - Chew on this *warning do not swallow*

yeah didn't fancy chewing on the page...
so cut out a kinda bite mark out of it.
so took the meaning and changed it...

Page 11 - Draw fat lines and thin

you can probably see the lines underneath, started it then changed my mind then ended up with this! Actually pretty pleased with how it turned out even if it did take over an hour to complete!

Page 151 - space for negative comments
(*what is your inner critic saying*)

actually scared me how easy I completed this. and how I'm struggling with 'page of good thoughts' i pray that I escape this rut soon!

Page 148 & 149 - create a non stop line.

yeah this page actually took the piss!
Not completely happy with how it turned out but what can you do! Maybe should have done it in black and white.

Page 7 - pour, spill, drip, spit, fling your coffee here.

so yeah I'm not a coffee drinker so I used tea which doesn't stain as much as coffee but it was enough to make me freak out, looked perfectly normal of me hair drying a book.........

And lastly the back page of my journal!

added a photo of Audrey Kitching I had laying around and obviously a Hello Kitty too, would be wrong if either of these weren't incorporated into my journal somewhere. I also used a piece of Disney pink ribbon to use as a bookmark on the page I'm working on!

so yeah, that's what's completed so far I've got 4 pages in progress! and now I'm actually prepared to 'Wreck this Journal' I'm sure there will be another update really soon! Not allowing myself to start 'this is not a book' until 90% of the journal is completed.
